Once you open a wallet, you might also want to experiment with buying an NFT from Opensea, which is a pretty basic learning step for a new user.
When buying an NFT, you need ETH. This is the currency tied to the Ethereum blockchain.
Something that is not well explained in crypto is that it’s often best to buy NFTs from INSIDE your wallet. You will want to simply head into your wallet and then click “Browser” at the bottom. Enter “Opensea.com” in there and you will go straight to their site with your wallet connected. You will see that NFTs can be offered for direct sale or for auction, and the search features can allow you to set things like a price range (Example: “to buy only/no auction” and "between $5 and $10.")
Some NFTs are even offered for free for just gas fees by new creators. For them, you will only incur gas fees. But to try out the buying process, we recommend you get something cheap, for $30 or less, so you can see gas fees and the transaction process in effect.
