Entertainmint is an ETH-based ticketing platform into collaborative creation experiences. We focus on helping indie creators monetize their content in various ways-via collaborative tickets, pay-per-view, livestream and rental. Our channel strategy allows studios, festivals, hubs and more to customize their own personal sections of our platform, using our functionality as their own. For completed works, we aid in royalty and streaming distribution.
We have an explainer video here that can help!
Entertainmint is part of a movement called "collaborative storytelling," which was founded by a series of innovative creators during the development of web3. We are standing on the shoulders of giants. Our model takes the form of something that Stoner Cats, The Gimmicks, Zero Contact, Project Iceman, Calladita and so many more pushed for from 2017-2022. These creators deserve huge kudos for making this model and "going it alone" to sell their NFTs and fund their shows during a time when it was incredibly difficult to even explain NFTs to an average person. Many of our team members are holders in these projects and we can not speak highly enough to the ingenuity of these founders!
Thanks to Stoner Cats, we learned that it was possible to put fans into a writer's room in Discord to write script notes and vote on major character arcs. Thanks to Project Iceman, we learned about various levels that fans might want to buy into a project at. Thanks to Calladita, we learned how to do this on a global scale. There's so much innovation in this space it's staggering, and if you are a creator that was part of the original wave, we'd love to shout you out in our Twitter Spaces, socials and more! Here is a partial list of the actions taken by innovators that came before us to create the NFT model around long-form creative content:
- The auctioning off of horror film Killroy Was Here as an NFT
- A directorial debut by Jennifer Esposito (Summer of Sam) in the movie Fresh Kills, to be financed by NFT sales. NFTs did not fund the entire film, but a part of it, and Esposito has been credited for figuring out ways that upstream investors of larger sums could be paid out first via a scenario using common and preferred shares
- David Bianchi’s Break the Bars, which not only sold for over 15ETH, but debuted in Decentraland at a premiere with over 1800 attendees
- Jordan Bayne’s movie Red Flags, a short, that sold for 4ETH thanks to a collaboration with the NFT Filmmaker Squad
- The Infinite Machine, an NFT Collection and collaborative effort by 40 artists mainly from countries where decentralization has a major impact on residents lives and finances. The Infinite Machine movie aims to be the first dramatized feature-length film about crypto, leveraging Ethereum technology and NFTs to fund its production and turn its audience into a community
- Julie Pacino’s Keepers of the Inn has so far raised over 175ETH on Opensea for funding and production
- Matteo Santoro’s Sift, which sold several VFX shorts at 5ETH to make the film
- Miguel Faus’s Calladita, raising funds via NFT crowdfunding for production and distribution
- Bored Ape Yacht Club, which just released the rights to a 3-film trilogy to Coinbase, to be premiered in 2022 at NYC NFT. Coinbase does not appear to be entering the Film3 space with this play; rather, it appears that this is a gimmick to get more users to download their wallet for exclusive access to the BAYC content
- Stoner Cats and The Gimmicks premiering the model of allowing fans into the character arcs and writer's rooms of their shows. Created by Orchard Farms Productions (Mila Kunis,) Big Head and Toonstar, these series' fundamentally changed the line between fan and creator forever
- Project Iceman, which turned down 1.25M from Netflix to fund and sell their show via NFTs at www.projecticeman.com. They have created four levels of NFT, starting with basic ticket and merch sales and ending with aucitioning off an executive producer seat at the top level
- The Red Ape family, which is an animated series based on the BAYC series (see the section on NFT animated shows, below)
- Cameron Von Hoy’s film Flinch, which has done an IRL tour to generate revenue via NFT PFPs and collectibles
- Shibuya, which premiered in Denver at a web3 convention, run by artist and founder of Pleasr DAO. With over 69M raised, they are using NFTs to fund shows and allowing holders to have a say in show direction
- MPX selling NFT rights to Brian Baumgartner’s musical company Electric Jesus to 1091 Pictures
- Never Alone, a film by Sherry McCracken, made by a collective of a team of web3 innovations at the NFT Film Squad festival in 2022 and available to stream on Entertainmint!
